DISC Wins 10 Awards

The supplier was recognized at the 2013 CMA competition.

DISC, a supplier of specialty packaging, created a promotional calendar. It was once again recognized as an award-winning promotional tool, which shows off the supplier’s printing capabilities.

DISC’s calendar is called Creating Reality: The Fine Art of Photorealism. It earned Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the 2013 Calendar Marketing Association (CMA) competition – plus, it was named as one of the 6 “Best in Show” finalists. The competition recognizes outstanding achievements in calendar design and production.

“We are so very pleased to be in the winner’s circle of this premier international competition once again,” said Margaret Krumholz, president, DISC Inc. “Every year, our creative team raises the bar in the selection and development of a design concept that is original and surprising. Then, they take it to the next level by applying many of the advanced graphic and production enhancements that we have in our repertoire.”

It took a combination of printing techniques to bring the calendar’s photo-realistic images to life. Processes included 4-color and 6-color Hexachrome printing; cold foil stamping; inline soft touch coating; reticulating varnish and UV techniques; offline gloss screen UV; grit coating; and sculptured embossing.
